SUMMARY:Forward-Facing® Professional Resilience
DESCRIPTION:Forward-Facing® Professional Resilience: \nPrevention and Resolution of Burnout\, Toxic Stress and Compassion Fatigue \nWhat you’ll learn \nForward-Facing™ Professional Resilience is the result of 20+ years of research and development in the area of burnout and compassion fatigue prevention. We have published nine empirical peer-reviewed studies that have demonstrated the skills in this workshop lessen the stress-related effects of caregiving and service work. Additionally\, these same skills—when implemented in a displaced approach—enhance well-being\, performance and professional quality of life. This course provides the participant with training in each of the five (5) resilience skills for the prevention and resolution of work-related stress while\, simultaneously\, enhancing professional performance. \nRequirements \nAnyone interested in learning how to lessen stress\, improve resilience\, enhance performance (cognitive and motor) and optimize personal/professional life is welcome to engage this course. There are no prerequisites. \nDescription \nJoin Dr. Eric Gentry\, LMHC in this workshop as he draws from the Accelerated Recovery Program for Compassion Fatigue and the Certified Compassion Fatigue Specialist training to provide an intensive one-day experiential training for professional helpers to prevent compassion fatigue and other work-related stress disorders. This course is an inoculation or vaccination against the potentially painful effects to caregivers working with troubled and traumatized populations. This training is also intended to produce an ameliorative effect upon the current compassion fatigue symptoms that participants may be experiencing. This training-as-treatment effect for this training has been published in several journals and is recognized as an effective treatment for the symptoms of compassion fatigue. The day is a potent alchemy of didactic information\, experiential processing\, and transformative techniques that assists the professional and/or volunteer care provider in resolving symptoms of compassion fatigue while\, at once\, developing resiliency skills and practices that prevent compassion fatigue symptoms in the future. Dr. Gentry has offered this training to over 100\,000 satisfied professional and volunteer care providers in the U.S. and abroad. \nLearning Objectives \n1. Understand the history\, causes\, treatment and prevention of work-related stress for professional caregiver. \n2. Identify the true causes of stress in personal and professional life. \n3. Learn skills for successful self-regulation of anxiety\, no matter the external context. \n4. Develop knowledge and skills necessary to prevent the symptoms of work-related stress and fatigue through enhanced resiliency. \n5. Utilization of self-regulations and perceptual maturation skills to significantly lessen the negative effects of work. \n6. Development of a self-directed Professional Resiliency Plan that can be easily integrated into professional practice and personal life. \nBook Your Training!\n\nTraining Presenters\n\nForward-Facing® Professional Resilience Consultant Cohort\n\n\nJulie Meeks\n\n\nMichelle Earl\n\n\nGreg Turner\n\n\nJoel Riley \n\n\nChad Angellotti\n\n\n\nJ. Eric Gentry\, PhD\, LMHC\, FAAETS \nJ. Eric Gentry\, PhD\, LMHC\, DAAETS is an internationally recognized leader in the study and treatment of traumatic stress and compassion fatigue. His Ph.D. is from Florida State University where he studied with Professor Charles Figley—a pioneer of these two fields. In 1997\, he co-developed the Accelerated Recovery Program (ARP) for Compassion Fatigue—the world’s only evidence-based treatment protocol for compassion fatigue. In 1998\, he introduced the Certified Compassion Fatigue Specialist Training and Compassion Fatigue Prevention & Resiliency Training. These two trainings have demonstrated treatment effectiveness for the symptoms of compassion fatigue and he published these effects in several journals. He has trained over 100\,000 health professionals over the past 20 years. \n\nOptional Book Resource:\nForward-Facing® Professional Resilience: Prevention and Resolution of Burnout\, Toxic Stress and Compassion Fatigue\nThis is not only a book about avoiding compassion fatigue and burnout\, it’s about rediscovering the joy of helping others. – Charles R. You don’t have to relive your nightmares to move on from them. By pairing self-regulation with intention\, Forward-Facing® offers you the opportunity to heal in the present instead of going back to the past. \nBut not only does the Forward-Facing® process help us solve the problem of chronic stress and trauma\, it helps us optimize for the future. When we understand our bodies’ responses to stress\, we are able to work in tandem with them as we set out to achieve our goals and live informed by our values. \nBy taking the Forward-Facing® Freedom workshop\, you’ll have the opportunity to transform the way you relate to the world and yourself as you learn how our bodies experience stress\, encode traumatic memories\, and can experience healing in everyday life. SUMMARY:Forward-Facing ME 7-Week Group
DESCRIPTION:ABOUT FFME\nForward-Facing ME is a 7-week interactive group process designed to help the participants gain skills to live more effectively.  The developers of this group have amassed a significant amount of research supporting the effectiveness of utilizing these skills to lessen the negative effects of stress in psychotherapeutic practice. \nLearn more about FFME HERE. \nThis group will meet weekly from July 27th to September 7th. Your registration covers all group meetings. \nForward-Facing ME is an interactive group process designed to help the participants gain skills   to live more effectively.  The developers of this group have amassed a significant amount of research supporting the effectiveness of utilizing these skills to lessen the negative effects of stress in psychotherapeutic practice.  While we expect that participants from this group may receive some of these benefits leading to the lessening of stress and stress-related issues\, it is important that you know:  THIS GROUP IS NOT PSYCHOTHERAPY.  Psychotherapy involves a trained\, licensed professional diagnosing and treating an identified disease by implementing a series of evidence-based interventions. \nThis group\, conversely\, is an attempt to provide the participants with a set of self-help tools to (a) regulate their own autonomic nervous system and (b) begin to live an intentional life.  People who have successfully engaged in these skills have reported a myriad of benefits after their continued practice of these skills that include lessened stress symptoms\, reduction in distress\, greater clarity of thought\, increased ability to function in high-demand situations\, more satisfying relationships as well as the ability to become and remain intentional with their behavior. \nForward-Facing® ME was born from Forward-Facing® Trauma Therapy: Healing the Moral Wound\, a book published in 2016 by Dr. Gentry.  FFTT has demonstrated effectiveness as an adjunct to psychotherapy for those diagnosed with PTSD and other anxiety-related disorders.  Forward-Facing ME offers the same components of psychoeducation and skills development found in FFTT delivered during this group in a self-help model.  We offer no claims of effectiveness for any individual participant. \nThis group should not be viewed as or utilized for treatment with any diagnosed mental disorder–even though some participants who might have those diagnoses may enjoy some benefit from this group.  If you are suffering from PTSD or another mental health disorder\, please reach out to FFI before registering for the group \nHowever\, we encourage you to seek professional assistance and support in addition to your practice of these skills.  Once again\, this group is not psychotherapy and should not be viewed as a substitute for professional psychotherapy by a licensed clinician for those suffering with a mental\, emotional\, psychological\, or behavioral disorder. \nThis group is interactive and relational.  You will be invited to engage with other participants and share weekly your REAL TIME (not past) success and struggles with self-regulation and intentionality.  One of the primary purposes of this group is to provide you with skills to help you gain traction in implementing and maintaining these changes. \nIf\, at any time during the group sessions\, you feel uncomfortable or overwhelmed by the group\, please take a break.  Reach out to your support network to talk about what you are experiencing.  If the distress dissipates\, you are welcome to return and engage at the level that is comfortable. If the distress does not dissipate after a break and utilizing your resources\, please reach out to a (mental) health professional\, crisis unit or\, in cases of emergency\, please call 911 for immediate and emergency services. \nPotential Benefits.  The benefits others have reported and that may occur for you from engaging and practicing Forward-Facing® skills include the following: \n\n\n\n\n\nLess stress\nComfort in your body\nImproved outlook\nJoy\nSelf-compassion\nOptimization in many areas of life\n\n\n\n\nGreater sense of well-being\nGreater sense of worth and purpose\nIncreased cognitive acuity and clearer thinking\nBetter relational capacity\nMore resilient\nAbility to become intentional instead of reactive\n\n\n\n\n\nPotential Risks.  The risks associated with participating in this group are minimal.  However\, anytime you engage in self-evaluation\, review of your past\, and participate with others who have painful past histories there is the potential to experience unpleasant emotions.  You may become “triggered” as a result of the material.  Fear\, sadness\, discomfort\, and distress are potential experiences throughout the group.  If any of these feelings become too great for you to manage\, please reach out for assistance from your support system\, a mental health professional\, a crisis specialist/unit\, your primary care provider or emergency medical assistance. \nGROUP POLICIES \nAttendance \nForward-Facing ME is first and foremost a relational experience\, and so for the safety and wellbeing of the group we have strict policies around attendance. \nAbsences: \nOnly one absence is allowed\, and it may not be the first meeting. \nIf you miss the first meeting\, you will not be able to start the group \nThe reason for the absence is not taken into consideration. \nIf you have two absences\, you may continue attending but will not get a certificate of completion. \nWe do not record meetings \nTimeliness: The group begins and ends on time. It is up to facilitators’ discretion whether or not to admit participants who are more than 5 minutes late. After 10 minutes\, the room will be permanently closed. Anyone who is not present at that time is considered absent. \nAttention: Please do your best to join via computer (not phone). Videos are to be always on. Your facilitator will describe how we create an atmosphere of attunement and attention. To create that environment\, we ask you to abstain from distractions such as checking notifications\, playing phone/computer games\, smoking\, vaping\, or alcohol consumption. We recommend headphones if your space includes other people. If there is an occasion where you are stuck in traffic\, etc\, you may join via phone for the first few minutes\, but please be sure to switch to computer as soon as you can (the facilitator will let you in). \nConfidentiality:  Please attenuate your sharing to a level that you feel comfortable sharing. We ask that you keep sharing from other participants confidential (what you see here and what you hear here when you leave here let it stay here). \nIndemnification: Participants will indemnify Forward-Facing Institute\, LLC\, its employees and contractors against losses and liabilities from any claims\, damages\, or lawsuits (including attorney’s fees) arising out of Forward-Facing® ME. \nInfluence: I commit to not be under the influence of any substance during the group\, and that my facilitator may ask me to leave if they believe I am under the influence. \nRefunds: If you cancel your registration seven (7) days in advance of the date of the group your registration fee will be refunded\, less a $25 processing fee. There are no refunds for cancellations received less than seven days before. \nSharing: No one is compelled to share\, but if you are intending to use this group as part of the certification process\, then weekly sharing is expected. \nCrosstalk/Group Dynamics: Cross-talk is defined as giving advice or feedback to someone after they share their story. We create a safe experience by not allowing cross-talk so you don’t feel as if you have to monitor what your share or respond to well-meaning advice. \nWe reserve the right to terminate the a participant’s membership in the group at any time if we discern the group is not a good fit.

SUMMARY:Forward-Facing® Professional Resilience
DESCRIPTION:*We are dealing with intermittent challenges with our registration software. If you experience difficulty registering\, please contact Mollie Gardner for assistance. (mollie@forward-facing.com)* \nForward-Facing® Professional Resilience: \nPrevention and Resolution of Burnout\, Toxic Stress and Compassion Fatigue \nWhat you’ll learn \nForward-Facing™ Professional Resilience is the result of 20+ years of research and development in the area of burnout and compassion fatigue prevention. \n\n\nTraining Presenters\nJ. \n\nEmily Hedrick\, M.Div.\nEmily Hedrick is Director of Operations and Innovation at Forward-Facing® Institute. Forward-Facing® Professional Resilience gave Emily the ability not only to recover from compassion fatigue she developed through her work as a pastor\, but also gave her permission to view her experiences with self-compassion instead of self-loathing. She’s thrilled to bring the tools and knowledge that transformed her understanding of careers in the helping professions to everyone who participates in this workshop. \nOne of her favorite things about Forward-Facing® is the people she has met through FFME\, training programs\, and other Forward-Facing® interactions. She’s looking forward to meeting everyone who shows up for this live workshop and hearing their stories! \n  \n  \n  \n  \n\nOptional Book Resource:\nForward-Facing® Professional Resilience: Prevention and Resolution of Burnout\, Toxic Stress and Compassion Fatigue\nThis is not only a book about avoiding compassion fatigue and burnout\, it’s about rediscovering the joy of helping others. – Charles R.
