Health and Wellness Coaching

Peter Salerno, PsyD, is a trauma-informed coach residing in Southern California who works with individuals and groups. He holds a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree and a Master of Science (MS) degree in Clinical Psychology and is approved by the International Association of Trauma Professionals as a certified Complex/Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-Level II).

Dr. Salerno believes that people make positive and lasting changes based on the insight gained through trauma-informed coaching. For Dr. Salerno, trauma-informed coaching provides an opportunity for people to reassess their personal narrative and while simultaneously becoming more resilient and better equipped to manage present-day challenges. Dr. Salerno does NOT view people as sick, dysfunctional, or disordered; rather, he believes that when our desire to grow outweighs our fear of growth, we become empowered to reach our full potential and to live the life that we truly want to live. Coaching is simply the vehicle through which this can be accomplished. Dr. Salerno views coaching – both personally and professionally – as a meaningful and liberating experience.

Dr. Salerno is the author of multiple books, including the award-winning “Fit For Off-Duty” series, which are trauma-informed self-help books for first responders, and “The Belief Equation,” which is a heart-felt motivational book that encourages you to let go of self-limiting beliefs that do not serve you, so you can create the life you truly want to live.

For Dr. Salerno, the Forward-Facing process is the perfect intersection between psychoeducation and life application. It provides a brilliant map to navigate oneself toward achieving lifelong goals, and it offers the freedom to experience life from the perspective of safety and resilience.
